Do-It-Yourself Unilock® BBQ Pit

Imagine sitting out in your back yard entertaining family and friends around your new Unilock® Barbeque Pit--and telling them you built it yourself!

All the materials you need to get started can be delivered by Congleton Landscape & Supply--you provide the muscle! All of our kits come with explicit, easy-to-understand directions, so you can construct your new barbeque pit yourself.

What we deliver:

(120-150) Brussels Dimensional Stone®
(12) tubes Unilock® concrete adhesive
(1) BBQ unit
(8) 2' x 2' patio slabs (base)

Installation:

Excavate foundation 16"-24" deep depending on soil conditions and climate. Remove all unstable soil.
Place 8"-16" of gravel in trench and compact in layers until hard.
Be sure to have gas lines and electrical cable ready to put into the correct location. Form and pour bottom concrete slab. The slab should be level from side to side and from front to back.
Plan the measurements of your BBQ according to the manufacturers specifications and recommendations for their "built in" models.
Install the Brussels Dimensional Stone® on the surface of the slab to the desired size. Use Unilock® Concrete Adhesive to glue the first and subsequent rows. Always make sure the block is free of dust before gluing. Each block should be liberally glued. You will need approximately 12 10 oz. tubes. Make sure to offset the pattern for subsequent rows. (You may need to cut some stones to construct this BBQ. Rent a masonry saw or guillotine to make the required cuts.)
Have the BBQ handy so that you can place it in the structure that you are building.
For larger structures, it is advisable to build it in stages so that the adhesive has a chance to cure. This will ensure that the blocks will not slide out of alignment.
